Anti-bullying

‘Be Kind, Work Hard and Never Give Up’

The first part of our motto is the foundation of our ethos at Irby Primary School and to achieve this goal all children learn:

  • about the importance of kindness and respect

  • how to recognise and nurture positive relationships

  • understand how people’s lives may differ according to where they live, their religious beliefs and/or culture.

The purpose of acquiring this knowledge is to ensure children are kind and demonstrate respects for one anothers’ uniqueness because every child has the right to feel safe and valued.

All pupils learn about the definition of bullying, the types of bullying and how to ask for help so that they can keep themselves safe. There is a policy of zero tolerance for any and all forms of bullying.

The leaflet below was created by our pupils and provides more information and support.

Anti-bullying is a topic which is discussed throughout school life including assemblies, PSHE Education lessons, by visitors such as the police and through themed days and events such as Odd Socks Day and Anti-bullying week. Further information can be accessed through many of our policies including Anti-bullying, Safeguarding, Equality and Behaviour (policies tab).
